A NIGER Delta activist and former Labour Party candidate for Delta State House of Assembly, Warri North constituency in the 2011 general elections, Mr. Adanse Felix, has called on the Inspector-General of Police to as a matter of urgency, the safety of President Goodluck Jonathan and the nascent democracy, arrest former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, governor of Adamawa State and others for allegedly making inflammatory statements.

Felix, in a statement, yesterday, alleged that the Adamawa State governor had recently threatened that if the President sought second term, there would be a civil war, while Obasanjo in his contro-versial letter to Mr. President, committed treasonable offence and should be treated as such.

He said: “Allowing these set of men to freely move about the country without using the law against them means that the nascent democracy in the country is threatened.
“These ex-generals know what they are saying and would go the extra mile to make the country ungovernable for the President.

“I plead with the police to arrest and prosecute them. These men never meant well for the President and the government. This is my humble request.
“The people of the Niger Delta will always stand by their brother in his legitimate and constitutionally-mandatory quest to seek for second term.”
