Activist blames PDP crisis on break up of NGF

By SIMON  EBEGBULEM

BENIN — African Network for Environment and Economic Justice, ANEEJ, said yesterday that the crisis rocking the national leadership of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was due to the alleged failure by President Goodluck Jonathan to follow the path of truth in the factionalisation of the Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF.

Executive Director of ANEEJ, Rev. David Ugolor, in an interview, said the factionalisation of PDP was a good omen for the country, adding that the party had not been fair to Nigerians, therefore, it would be good for the country’s democracy to see another party in charge at the national level.

Said he: “What is happening in PDP is competition of individual interests, which has nothing to do with the general development of Nigeria.  And that is very unfortunate.

“They had the opportunity to demonstrate to Nigerians that they were going to be the vehicle that will provide concrete development for the people but unfortunately they missed it.”
