Complaints and Investigations

What happened to my investment in Daar Communications?

I bought shares worth N5, 000 from DAAR Communications Nig. Ltd. in 2005 or 2006. I paid the money through UBA, but since then, I have not been notified. Does it mean that before buying shares, somebody must have a Stockbroker?  Or is it that my money is gone?  (Christy, Bayelsa State)

Investors Forum

Not really. To ascertain the status of your investment, you need to contact the registrars of Daar Communications. Contact First Registrars

Plot 2 Abebe Village Road, Iganmu or call  08033018295, 08191410456

Ecobank, where is my certificate

I bought Oceanic Bank shares in 2007. But since Ecobank took over the bank, they have not issued me an Ecobank certificate.   Even the branch Delta State through which I bought the shares could not help. It is a huge challenge to me. Please assist (Inone John Oyibo).

I want to invest in shares

My name is Chuks. I’ve been thinking about investing in the stock market for some time now and I would like to know how to go about it. How do I get started?

Investors Forum

You need to acquaint yourself with some basic education about investment in shares. For this, we recommend you read previous editions of Investors Forum. Secondly, you need the services of a stockbroker and for a list of licensed stockbroking firms, visit  http://www.nse.com.ng/Regulation/ForBrokers/Pages/Dealing-Members.aspx.

I need update on Afribank

Please I need to know the fate of Afribank, which metamorphosed into Mainstreet Bank, because I have 200 units of shares with the bank before the CBN came with their policy.

Investors Forum

Afribank does not exist again, neither is investment in the bank. The bank ceased to belong to the shareholders once the bank was closed by CBN.
