Lagos — Arewa People’s Congress, APC, has accused President Goodluck Jonathan of having concluded plans to deal with some Northern governors opposed to his 2015 presidential ambition.

APC said that what was now playing out in Rivers State was an indication of Jonathan’s intolerance of opposition views, saying however that, those nudging him to continue with his quarrel with Governor Chibuike Amachi of Rivers State were his greatest enemies.

APC’s Spokesman, Mallam Abdullahi Usman who made this known in an interview with Vanguard said: “Whoever told Jonathan to continue with his plan to destabilise the Rivers State government does not wish him well.  Jonathan has not been able to resolve the problems occasioned by the Boko Haram insurgents in some parts of the north. If actually Jonathan wants to contest the 2015 presidency, as they say, does he need to become dictatorial to achieve his aim?

“The President has lost the whole of the North and he is not likely to make any in-roads into the South West. He is not likely to get all the votes from the South East; so why does he want to add more burden onto himself by creating more problems in the South-South where he hails from?

“In any case, our concern is not about Jonathan and his 2015 ambition, but the undemocratic way he has adopted to deal with all his perceived enemies, especially among the northern governors.”
