Residents in Bama 75km away from Maiduguri, Borno state capital are fleeing to the bushes after gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram shot dead least four policemen and set ablaze houses today, residents and security sources said.

The gunmen attempted to take the the life of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) there, who managed to escape with bullet injuries.
