Madrid qualify for Champions League quarter-finals

MANCHESTER, United Kingdom (AFP) – Real Madrid came from behind to win 2-1 at Manchester United on Tuesday and qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The hosts went ahead through Sergio Ramos’ own goal early in the second half but United then had Nani sent off and Madrid scored through Luka Modric and Cristiano Ronaldo to secure a 3-2 aggregate victory.

Also Borussia Dortmund qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in 15 years here on Tuesday beating Shakhtar Donetsk 3-0 on the night and 5-2 on aggregate.

Goals by Felipe Santana, Mario Goetze and Jakub Blaszczykowski sealed a comprehensive victory for the German side.
