Yenagoa— Bayelsa State Agency for the Control, BYSACA, has called on Federal Government to establish  HIV/AIDS specialist centers  across the six geo-political zones of the country to tackle the scourge.

Director-General, BYSACA, Mr. Temple Iluma, said the setting up of the AIDS specialist centres would avert what he described as “ominous national tragedy.”

Iluma,  yesterday, in Yenagoa, listed states with high HIV prevalence as Benue 12.7 per cent,  Akwa Ibom 10.9 per cent, Bayelsa 9.1 per cent, FCT 8.6 per cent, Anambra 8.7 per cent, Plateau  7.7per cent and Nasarawa 7.5 per cent.
