ABUJA— GOVERNOR of Kaduna State, Patrick Yakowa, has vowed that he would not resign from his position because of bombing of churches and security challenge in the state caused by members of the Boko Haram sect.

The state had been facing this major menace, with areas of worship massively bombed, leaving many dead, several others injured and property worth millions of naira destroyed, with calls from some quarters that the governor, who is from the Southern part of the state, should resign.

The recent bomb blast by a suicide bomber in Kaduna took place at St Rita’s Catholic Church at Angwan Yero.

Answering questions from journalists, shortly after he paid a visit to the National Working Committee, NWC, of  Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, national secretariat in Abuja, Yakowa disclosed that his government was on top of the situation, adding that the menace will soon be a thing of the past in Kaduna.
