MultiChoice Group, a Canal+ Company, has introduced its most significant update in years, bringing more of Africa’s greatest football, entertainment and a new era to live.

The announcement is coming over a year after Canal+ finalised the takeover of MultiChoice and acquired effective control of MultiChoice Group, following regulatory approvals from South Africa’s Competition Tribunal in July 2025.

Under the new structure, DStv packages will comprise Starter, Select, Sports and Premium, while GOtv customers can choose from Easy, Starter, Select and Sports. The new package line-up is designed around how customers watch today, with clearer choices, more accessible content and greater value across the portfolio.

This was announced at the MultiChoice office in Tiamiyu Savage, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Covering every Premier League and UEFA Champions League match, WWE and UFC. Alongside this extensive sports offering, the Sports package includes all the general entertainment channels.

Combining everything available on Sports with additional premium sporting titles, including Formula 1, MotoGP, Grand Slam tennis and Golf majors, as well as the best international series on M-Net.

Speaking on the new package that will be introduced on November 5, 2026, CEO, MultiChoice Nigeria, Kemi Omotosho, said: “For us, sports is one of our hero packages; Nigerians love EPL, Laliga, Serie A and others so we are giving all the leagues in one. The focus is on giving subscribers better value and access to the entertainment they love.

“The strength of our platform is the combination of African entertainment, leading international content and unrivalled live sports in one place. We’ve reimagined our packages to better reflect how customers watch today, with tailored options specifically for general entertainment and sports fans.”

“For the first time, some of DStv’s biggest channels will be available at significantly more accessible price points. Starter is the entry-level entertainment package featuring two brand-new channels: SuperSport Kickoff, which brings the Premier League Match of the Week and selected football from the UEFA Champions League; and Africa Magic+, which offers premium local and international series plus more.

“Subscribers will enjoy all movie channels, local and international series, a selection of top football and other sports, as well as the complete kids’ channel offering.

Sports is the first package built specifically for football fans; customers will also benefit from MultiChoice’s refreshed package line-up, with new GOtv packages launching alongside the new DStv offering on November 5, 2026. Built around the same principles of greater value, simpler choice and access to more of the entertainment customers love, the new GOtv packages will provide an enhanced viewing experience tailored to local audiences.

Speaking on one year after the Canal+ takeover, she said: “One, it’s one year in the marriage and one year of me in my role. It’s been a roller coaster, a lot of new things, experience, and we are also challenging ourselves to do things differently and think differently. We haven’t had a price increase, and no one is saying anything about that, but we are still giving customers more value; we are providing more products with an easier choice to select.”
