*Says he was an African Statesman
By Henry Umoru
ABUJA – THE Senate, Tuesday, said the death of President of Ghana, Mr. Attah Mills will shake the entire African continent, just as it said it is a colossal loss.
According to the Senate, the late President Mills was sure and simple, a quintessential African Statesman who will be sorely missed.
A statement by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Information, Media and Publicity, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, the upper chambers said that President Mills victory in Ghana’s presidential election, coming from an opposition political party catapulted that country to the enviable height as one of the stable and matured democracies.
“In that case he would be remembered mostly for his astuteness in the political turf and forthright in entrenching deep democratic culture in Ghana nay Africa.”
” The Senate therefore condoles the Government and People of Ghana on the death of this illustrious African patriot.”
