The Nigeria Association of Tour Operators (NATOP), the foremost professional body representing tour operators and tourism practitioners in the country, is set to mark the 10th anniversary of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) with a renewed commitment to advancing Nigeria’s tourism industry.
The milestone AGM will bring together key players in the tourism ecosystem, including tour operators, travel professionals, government agencies, investors, hospitality stakeholders, development partners, and industry experts to review the association’s journey, celebrate achievements, and discuss the future of tourism development in Nigeria.
Established to promote and develop tourism through advocacy, capacity building, destination marketing, and industry collaboration, NATOP has over the years contributed significantly to the growth of domestic tourism, supported tourism entrepreneurs, and promoted Nigeria’s diverse cultural and natural attractions.
The anniversary AGM will provide a platform for stakeholders to deliberate on emerging opportunities and challenges within the tourism sector, strengthen partnerships, and develop strategies that will position tourism as a major driver of economic growth.
Speaking on the significance of the occasion, NATOP’ President, Alhaja Bolaji Mustapha, said “ the 10th anniversary represents a decade of industry leadership, collaboration, and commitment to building a sustainable tourism sector.
Key areas of focus at the AGM will include promoting policies that encourage tourism investment, showcasing Nigeria’s tourism assets, empowering tourism entrepreneurs through knowledge exchange, strengthening the role of tour operators in economic development, and promoting sustainable and responsible tourism practices.
Alhaja Bolaji Mustapha noted that the event will also serve as an avenue to highlight the importance of tourism in job creation, youth empowerment, cultural preservation, and national development.
She expressed optimism that the anniversary celebration will further strengthen NATOP position as a leading voice in Nigeria’s tourism industry while creating opportunities for innovation, investment, and partnerships that will drive the sector forward.
As we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the NATOP Annual General Meeting, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting tourism as a catalyst for economic growth, cultural preservation, youth empowerment, and national development, she stated.
Together, we will continue to showcase Nigeria’s rich tourism potential to the world and build a stronger, more resilient tourism industry for future generations.
