Lagos-based leading marketing and advertising agency Oxgital has announced the signing of popular Nigerian veteran actor, comedian and entertainer Dr Hafiz Oyetoro (aka) Saka, popularly known for his viral phrase “I don port o”, as the brand ambassador for Citi Hope Homes, the flagship residential estate project of Citi Buildings Real Estate and Property Development Company.

The announcement also signals the official launch of the Sack Your Landlord campaign, a movement that goes straight at one of Nigeria’s most interesting conversations: “that homeownership is something only the rich can afford.”

Citi Hope Homes is a master-planned residential estate located in Obafemi Owode, Ogun State, offering Nigerians a flexible and legally secured path to homeownership.

A spokesperson for Citi Buildings described the collaboration as a natural fit for the brand’s mission.

“Saka is not just a celebrity to us. He represents the everyday Nigerian, the person who works hard, who understands struggle, and who still believes that better is possible. That is exactly who Citi Hope Homes was built for. We did not want a face that looked like success was easy. We wanted a face that looks like success is earned. Saka is that person. This campaign is going to change the conversation around homeownership in this country.”

For Oxgital, the agency behind the campaign strategy and execution, the Sack Your Landlord campaign represents something bigger than a property-ownership launch.

“We build campaigns that mean something,” said Akeem Osungbade, Chief Executive Officer at Oxgital. “When we sat down with Citi Buildings and looked at what they were actually offering- ₦2,400 a day, full legal title, a real estate developer with nearly a decade of track record, we knew this was a movement waiting to happen”
