As the member representing Delta South Senatorial district, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas marks three years at the National Assembly, Executive Director of the Courageous Girls Women and Children Initiative (CGWCI), Ayovuata Courage Uyoyou, has lauded the lawmaker for impactful representation, legislative excellence, and unprecedented federal presence across the District.

Ayovuata, in a statement, noted that the past three years had brought remarkable strides in infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment, educational advancement, healthcare delivery, agricultural support, job creation, and humanitarian interventions, with positive impact felt across the eight local government areas of the district.

According to her, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas has distinguished himself as a responsive, accessible, and people-oriented representative whose legislative and constituency engagements have consistently translated into measurable benefits for his constituents.

Ayovuata, who also serves as Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs and Girl-Child Development to the Senator, highlighted the Senator’s notable legislative contributions at the National Assembly, including his support for and sponsorship of strategic bills such as the bill for the establishment of the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, which has received Presidential Assent from President Bola Tinubu, alongside several other key bills currently awaiting assent. 

These legislative efforts, she explained, underscore his commitment to strengthening national institutions while advancing the development priorities of Delta South Senatorial District.

Ayovuata further emphasized that for many communities across Delta South, the period under review represents an unprecedented experience of federal presence, reflected in visible projects, empowerment initiatives, developmental programmes, and increased access to opportunities facilitated through effective representation at the national level.

“The story of the last three years is one of purposeful leadership, visible impact, empowerment, and renewed hope. Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas has not only represented Delta South with distinction but has also restored public confidence in democratic governance through consistent delivery and commitment to service,” she stated.
