ENUGU—The Enugu State Government, yesterday ,presented Certificates of Return to the newly elected executive members of the Nkwubor Nike Town Development Union.

Presenting the certificates, Governor Peter Mbah, represented by the Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Charles Egumgbe, urged the new leadership to align their activities with the state government’s policy of disruptive innovation.

He noted that the present administration recognizes town union leadership as the fourth tier of government and expects it to serve as a catalyst for grassroots development.

Dr. Egumgbe also outlined the responsibilities of the new executives, emphasizing that their primary mandate is to promote community development, foster peaceful coexistence among residents, and ensure the security of lives and property.

In his response, the President-General of the Nkwubor Nike Town Development Union, Mr. Basil Agbo, expressed appreciation to the commissioner and his team for their approach to resolving community disputes, which he said has helped sustain peace in the area. He pledged that the union’s leadership would be guided by decisions of the general assembly and the provisions of its constitution.

The newly inaugurated executive members include Basil Agbo (President-General/Chairman), Vincent Okwor (Vice President), Ngwu Iloabuchi (Secretary), Agbowo Princewill (Assistant Secretary), Aneke Chidi (Financial Secretary), Nnamani Makuo Chukwu (Treasurer), Okwor Sunday (Publicity Secretary), Nnamene Ozoemene (Provost I), and Okwor Onyeka (Provost II).

Other members of the executive council are John Chukwudi Aneke, Christopher Anike, Joseph Ugwueze, Chinonso Ngwu, Chikwado Ugwueze, Augustine Okwor, Jideoffor Okwor, Jideoffor Anike, Emeka Casmir Okoh, Nnamdi Ugwu, Ikenna Ugwu, Adolphus Ugwu, Okwor Chimereze, Ugochukwu Edeh, and Ifeanyi Okwor.
