Supporters of Architect Christian Asaga Nwali, popularly known as C-Sagas, have called on the leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to ensure transparency in the handling of the Ebonyi Central Senatorial District primary election.
The supporters made the appeal following the party’s primary election held on May 29, 2026, urging the national leadership to promptly clarify the outcome of the exercise.
They expressed confidence in Nwali’s performance during the primary and called on party officials to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
According to them, results compiled from the four local government areas that make up the senatorial district showed Nwali receiving 1,517 votes, while his opponent secured 136 votes.
The group appealed to the party’s national leadership, including Senator Seriake Dickson and other officials, to carefully review the results and ensure that the final outcome reflects the votes cast by delegates.
Speaking on behalf of the supporters, Benjamin Chukwu said the party should handle the process in a manner that strengthens confidence in its internal democratic procedures.
“The NDC is a growing political party and many people expect it to conduct its affairs in a transparent and credible manner,” he said
Chukwu maintained that Nwali enjoyed significant support among delegates and expressed hope that the party would conclude the process in accordance with its rules and guidelines.
He also urged party members to remain peaceful and allow the appropriate party organs to complete the collation and verification process.
As of the time of filing this report, the NDC had not issued an official statement on the final outcome of the Ebonyi Central Senatorial District primary election.
