Updated: Samule Ojo is our president – NACOS

The Nigeria Association of Computing Students, NACOS, has said Samuel Ojo is the duly elected National President of the student body, saying he emerged at its recently-held convention in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.


The association, in a statement by Inam Julius, the 2026 NACOS National Election Chairman, warned the public against relating with anybody claiming to be the president of the association apart from Samuel Ojo.


“The Electoral Committee [ELECOM] disclaims a circulating press release from a false electoral body listing impersonated candidates as winners of the NACOS 2026 National Executive Election which was free, fair and credible. The publication is unauthorized and invalid.”


Explaining how the electoral process went, the electoral body said it adopted e voting to reduce the risk of students from across the country travelling to Uyo considering the security situation in the country and that people voted via https://vote.nacos.org.ng on May 7, 2026, after initially planning a pilot open ballot.
It added that the South-South region was excluded from contesting the position of National Secretary because the outgoing occupant was from the zone and that some aspirants who could not prove their studentship were disqualified.


Some were also disqualified for not submitting themselves for screening or failing to provide necessary documents.
At the end of the process the elected officers are President – Samuel Ojo – South-West, VP, National Affairs – Odinakaru Doris – North-Central, VP, International Affairs– Gideon Jones – South-South, Secretary General – Oyeleye Peace Oluwagbemiga – South-West, Assistant Secretary– Marybel Kingsley – South-South, Director of Finance – Anioba Emmanuel Ayomide – South-East, Director, Media & Publicity – David Nnadozie – South-East, Director, Research & Innovation – Azubike Samson – South-East, Director, Welfare & Membership – Female – Treasure Ofei – South-East, Director, Welfare & Membership – Male – Umar Ohiane – South-South
NACOS warned the public to disregard any contrary list.
