Nigerians told to promote cultural heritage through fashion globally

A growing Abuja-based fashion brand, Pristê, has announced move to gain visibility in Nigeria’s capital as it expands its offerings and outlines plans for international growth.

A statement signed by its founder Chimdi Anyaehie, said the brand produces a range of clothing including tailored suits, traditional wear and ready-to-wear collections for men and women.

The company has also introduced an internal apprenticeship programme to address the shortage of skilled craftsmen, a challenge often cited within Nigeria’s fashion industry.

Speaking on the initiative, Anyaehie said, “One of our biggest challenges was limited skilled craftsmen. Training our team internally has allowed us to maintain premium standards.”

He added that the brand’s design approach combines traditional and contemporary styles.

“We create clothing that honours heritage while speaking to the present generation,” he said.

On its broader vision, Anyaehie noted that the brand is focused on building identity through fashion.

“We build more than clothes; we create identity and presence expressed through fashion,” he said.
