As preparations intensify for the Osun State governorship election, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, has pledged that the poll will be peaceful, free of violence, and without intimidation.

Speaking at a “Victory Prayer” organised by the Ikire Muslim community on Sunday, Oyebamiji expressed confidence of winning the August 15 election, insisting that voter intimidation and violence would not be tolerated.

He said his ambition is divinely guided and assured residents that his administration would prioritise development across key sectors if elected.

“I want to assure you that violence and chaos will not be recorded before, during or after the election. There will be no bloodshed. No one will harass voters. Security will be adequate to ensure a free and fair election,” he said.

Oyebamiji also promised improvements in security, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare, youth empowerment, and job creation, adding that civil servants would enjoy training opportunities and other benefits under his administration.

“Our government will perform well in every sector. APC is not frivolous; people will enjoy good governance under our leadership,” he added.

Earlier in his sermon, Sheikh Abdulbasit Katibi-Bello commended the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for supporting Oyebamiji’s aspiration and prayed for his success in the election.

He described Oyebamiji as a leader who has shown inclusiveness and support for different communities.
The Chairman of the Irewole Muslim Community, Ademola Lasisi, urged residents to mobilise support for the APC candidate, stressing that widespread participation across local government areas would be key to his victory.

Another community leader, Olayinka Edu, noted that prayers for aspirants from Ikire have been ongoing for decades, expressing confidence in Oyebamiji’s candidature and describing him as a philanthropist with strong community impact.

He cited the construction of mosques, churches, and support for religious institutions as part of Oyebamiji’s contributions to the constituency.
