The appointment of a new general manager at one of Lagos’ leading upscale hotels is being seen as a positive signal for the city’s growing tourism and business travel market.
As Radisson Hotel Group announced the appointment of Yehia El-Mansoury as General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel Lagos Ikeja.
The move comes at a time when Lagos continues to strengthen its position as a key destination for corporate travel, conferences, and leisure tourism in West Africa.
Industry observers note that leadership changes at premium hotels often reflect broader ambitions to capture higher-value segments of the market.
El-Mansoury’s elevation follows a successful stint as General Manager of the Radisson Hotel Lagos Ikeja, where he has served since April 2023. During that period, he was credited with strengthening the hotel’s market positioning, improving guest satisfaction, and driving consistent commercial performance.
A hospitality professional with over 20 years’ experience across Africa and the Middle East, El-Mansoury has built a track record in operational excellence, business development, and team leadership.
His tenure in Lagos saw the rollout of initiatives aimed at enhancing service standards, boosting staff engagement, and reinforcing the hotel’s reputation in a competitive market.
Commenting on the appointment, Ahmed Raza, District Director for Nigeria at Radisson Hotel Group, said El-Mansoury’s blend of strategic insight and operational discipline had delivered measurable results.
“We are confident that his leadership at Radisson Blu Hotel Lagos Ikeja will further strengthen our presence and elevate our brand promise in Nigeria,” Raza said.
El-Mansoury, who has held senior commercial and general management roles across Egypt, Tanzania and other markets, said he was “honoured” to take on the new role and build on the achievements recorded at his previous posting.
“I look forward to continuing to elevate guest experiences and contributing to the growth of the group in Nigeria,” he said.
He holds qualifications in hotel management, business, and leadership, including credentials from Cornell University.
The appointment underscores Radisson Hotel Group’s focus on developing in-house leadership talent as it expands its footprint across Africa.
