‘I’m not coming to steal money’ — Cubana Chief Priest declares Reps ambition

Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has formally signalled his entry into partisan politics, announcing plans to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.

The celebrity barman made the declaration in a viral video while addressing stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he revealed his intention to represent the Orsu, Orlu and Oru East Federal Constituency under the ruling party.

His political move comes shortly after aligning himself with the City Boys Movement, a pro-Tinubu support group that gained prominence during the 2023 elections.

Addressing party members, Cubana Chief Priest framed his aspiration as one rooted in service and development, distancing himself from the common perception of public office as a means of personal enrichment.

“I am not coming to steal money; I want to add mine to the constituency,” he said, presenting himself as someone willing to commit personal resources to improving his constituency.

His declaration has since generated mixed reactions online, with some supporters applauding his boldness and philanthropic image, while critics have raised concerns about his political inexperience and readiness for legislative duties.
