A chieftain of the Kwankwasiyya Movement in Enugu State, Dr. Hillary Eze Kenechukwu, has described the emerging political alignment between Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso under the platform of the African Democratic Congress as a potential catalyst for Nigeria’s socio-economic transformation.

Kenechukwu, who also serves as Chief Judge of the Larry Gee Group, made the remarks in a statement issued in Enugu, noting that the growing momentum around the proposed alliance reflects more than a conventional political coalition.

According to him, the partnership symbolises a convergence of competence, integrity and grassroots appeal capable of addressing longstanding challenges in governance, security and economic management.

Describing both leaders as “ideological heavyweights,” he said their combined strengths in fiscal discipline and mass mobilisation position them as credible drivers of national renewal.

“What we are witnessing is not just a merger but a strategic alignment that offers Nigerians a clear alternative anchored on accountability and inclusive development,” he said.

Kenechukwu pledged support for the alliance, vowing to mobilise structures within Enugu State to strengthen the ADC ahead of future elections.

He disclosed that efforts were underway to expand the party’s grassroots presence through membership drives, particularly in rural communities, including support for citizens without access to digital registration platforms.

He added that sensitisation campaigns would also be intensified to encourage the acquisition of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and boost civic participation.

“Our movement is committed to ensuring that no willing participant is excluded from the democratic process,” he said.

Kenechukwu urged residents of Enugu State to take advantage of what he described as a “historic opportunity” by aligning with the ADC, stressing that active political participation remains key to shaping Nigeria’s future.

He also called on citizens to move away from political apathy and engage more actively in the democratic process in pursuit of a more secure and economically stable nation.
