The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), through the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson, has commended Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro aka Bibire, an aspirant for the Ibadan North West and Ibadan South West Federal Constituency, for his outstanding and consistent contributions toward the advancement of education, student welfare, and grassroots development.

In a statement issued by Comrade Alao John Oluwadamilola, NANS described Hon. Fagbenro Bibire as a leader whose impact transcends political ambition and is firmly rooted in practical, people centered interventions that directly improve the lives of students and communities.

NANS particularly highlighted his sustained commitment to educational support initiatives, which have continued to open doors of opportunity for many young Nigerians.

“His provision of free JAMB registration forms to indigent students has become a notable intervention aimed at reducing barriers to higher education and encouraging academic pursuit among youths. Beyond this, the payment of WAEC and NECO examination fees for students stands as a clear demonstration of his dedication to ensuring that financial limitations do not hinder access to basic educational qualifications.

“These interventions are not driven by political office but by a genuine passion for youth development and empowerment. Through his foundation and continuous outreach programmes, Hon. Fagbenro Bibire has consistently demonstrated that education remains a powerful tool for societal transformation and national development.

“In addition to his contributions to education, NANS also applauded his impactful infrastructural interventions within communities. His efforts in facilitating the provision of solar powered lighting systems have significantly improved security and enhanced economic activities within various localities. Furthermore, his commitment to providing access to clean and potable water has addressed critical needs within underserved communities, improving public health and overall quality of life.”

Comrade Alao emphasized that leadership must be defined by measurable impact, responsiveness, and a genuine connection to the people.

He stated that Hon. Fagbenro Bibire exemplifies these qualities through a leadership style that prioritizes service, inclusiveness, and sustainable development.

“His interventions reflect a deep understanding of the challenges faced by students and communities, as well as a clear commitment to addressing them.”

The statement further stressed the crucial role of government and aspiring leaders in driving policies and programmes that support education, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development.

NANS called on leaders at all levels to emulate the example set by Hon. Fagbenro Bibire by investing in initiatives that directly benefit students and contribute to national progress.

NANS reaffirmed its position as a critical stakeholder in promoting accountability, good governance, and student centered policies, while also recognizing and celebrating individuals who demonstrate excellence in service delivery, irrespective of political office.

“Hon. Abayomi Fagbenro Bibire’s track record continues to inspire confidence in purposeful leadership, and his contributions stand as a model for effective representation and impactful governance.”
