The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in partnership with INTER CORE Solutions Ltd, has launched a one-month intensive training programme on steel welding and fabrication in Oyo State.
The initiative, which commenced on Monday, is aimed at equipping 50 participants with practical skills to boost their employability and entrepreneurial capacity.
The training forms part of NCDMB’s broader strategy to promote local content development in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, while addressing the growing skills gap in the country’s workforce.
Participants will undergo both theoretical and hands-on training, covering key areas such as safety procedures, welding techniques, and fabrication processes.
At the end of the programme, trainees are expected to receive certifications, having gained practical experience that positions them for opportunities within and beyond the oil and gas industry.
The training is scheduled to conclude in April, with a graduation ceremony to mark the successful completion of the programme.
