In commemoration of the 2026 International Women’s Day, Xtralarge Farms & Resorts has unveiled plans to empower 1,000 women through training and support across the agribusiness value chain as part of efforts to promote women’s economic independence and sustainable livelihoods.
The organisation also announced that 100 women would benefit from a special holiday treat and boat cruise organised to celebrate women and provide a platform for relaxation, networking and recognition of their contributions to society.
Managing Director of Xtralarge Farms & Resorts, Dr. Moji Davids, said the initiative was designed to create economic opportunities for women by equipping them with practical skills and resources required to earn sustainable incomes through agriculture.
According to her, the programme aligns with the theme of the celebration, “Give to Gain,” which reflects the organisation’s commitment to investing in women as a pathway to economic growth and community development.
She explained that while the holiday treat and boat cruise would offer a memorable recreational experience for 100 selected women, the broader empowerment programme would focus on training and equipping 1,000 women with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to participate profitably in the agribusiness value chain.
Davids described the initiative as part of the organisation’s broader vision to promote inclusive economic growth by supporting women to explore opportunities within the agricultural sector.
“The theme ‘Give to Gain’ truly resonates with our vision at Xtralarge Farms & Resorts, and we are delighted to celebrate women in this meaningful way while also creating opportunities for them to build sustainable livelihoods,” she said.
She added that the training programme would focus on practical skills and opportunities within the agricultural sector, enabling participants to generate income and strengthen their financial independence.
Interested participants were advised to obtain further information by contacting the International Women’s Day executive through the organisation’s website.
The initiative forms part of activities lined up by the organisation to mark the 2026 International Women’s Day while promoting women’s empowerment through agribusiness development.
