Bayelsa-born ace comedian and event host, Ebitimi Ogoniba, popularly known as MC Senibo, has paid WAEC registration fees for 157 indigent secondary school students.
Senibo had In 2025, paid the WAEC fees for 55 indigent students, including three external candidates at Community Secondary School, Odioma, Brass Local Government Area.
Senibo in a chat with newsmen in Yenagoa on Friday disclosed that the 157 beneficiaries were drawn from Odioama and Okpoama Communities in Brass Local Government Area of the state.
The breakdown of the beneficiaries is as follows: Government Secondary School, Okpoama( 74 students), Community Secondary School (30 students), Community Secondary School, Odioma(53 students).
He said, “By the special grace of God, I am delighted to announce that I have successfully completed the payment of WAEC registration fees for a total of 157 students from our dear communities of Odioama and Okpoama communities in Brass local government area of Bayelsa state.”
Senibo, while noting that the initiative represents his personal contribution and commitment to supporting and promoting quality education among young people in the communities, averred that education remains the most powerful tool for empowerment, progress, and breaking the cycle of poverty.
“By removing the financial barrier to WAEC registration, I hope to enable these students to sit for their examinations with confidence and focus on their studies, paving the way for brighter futures for themselves, their families, and our entire kingdom.”
MC Senibo expressed gratitude to God for the resources and the heart to give back to society.
He further encouraged all stakeholders—parents, teachers, community leaders, and the students themselves—to ensure full participation and preparation for the upcoming examinations.
The principals of the affected schools, namely, Mr Sinitei Tarilanyo, principal of Community Secondary School, Odioma; Mrs. Alamene Imbapou, principal of Community Secondary School, Okpoama, and Kenodi Isaac, Government Secondary School, Okpoama, commended Senibo for the initiative and urged other well -meaning Bayelsans to emulate him to contribute to the education of indigent students in rural communities.
