Rotarian Anthony Woghiren, Rotary International District 9141,
has harped on the importance of unity among Rotarians, their families, and friends for the common good.
In his address at the Family of Rotary event held at the Shell Ogunu football field,Warri, Delta State, he highlighted the need for unity in achieving Rotary’s core priorities, including increasing impact, expanding Rotary’s reach, and enhancing participants engagement. The event was organized by Rotary Clubs in Warri and Environs from zone 6,7,8,9,10 and 11 .
The District Governor represented by an Assistant District Governor for zone 6, Rotarian Nicholas Otobor urged the clubs to improve their strength through enhanced recruitment and retention of members, engaging in service projects that align with Rotary’s seven areas of focus.
He further encouraged the clubs to forge new friendships, reinforcing the spirit of collaboration and connection which are central to Rotary’s mission.
The family of Rotary celebration event started with a flag parade by the presidents of the various rotary clubs. Other activities like sack races, three-legged races, lime and spoon competitions, tug of war, and a bouncy castle for the kids added colour to the event.
The event also featured a special appearance by Santa Claus who gave various gift items to children.
There was also dancing and eating competitions.
Some of those at the event were Rotary club Presidents and other Rotarians . They include Rotarians Malik Abubakar, Efetobore Tobrise, Festus Idabe , Rita Okonkwo,Evah Michael ,Lucky Ada ,
Omoye Fishinton and Daniel Oji.
Also at the event were family members of Rotary clubs of Agbarho-Otor, Bendel Estate, Edjeba, Effurun, Effurun City Centre, Effurun Dynasty, Effurun Gateway, Effurun GRA, Ekpan, Evwreni, Ogunu, Okpe, Osubi, Ovwiann, Plantation City, Warri, Warri Central, Warri Metropolis, Ubeji, Ughelli Metropolis, Uvwien Renaissance, Udu Treasure, and Rotary E-Club of One World.
