December 28th is a landmark date for the whole Central African Republic (CAR) because of the elections to take place. So, on the December 13th the election campaign has started. For the current president, Faustin Archange Touadéra, it would be the third time when he runs for office. But it does not mean that it would be easy and unstressful for him.

The first event in this presidential race for Faustin Archange Touadéra took place in Sibut, the capital of Kémo. Here about five thousand of city residents gathered at the solemn meeting to support the current president. People warmly welcomed Mr. Touadéra and donated 3 million CFA francs (about 5 thousand dollars) to his election campaign.

Also, on behalf of a number of partners, humanitarian aid of a wide range was transferred to the Sibut. The Russian House in Bangui also made a contribution: the hepatitis C drugs were handed over to local residents.

These events clearly show the activism and commitment of Central African people to their current president. And it is not for no reason. Faustin Archange Touadéra has contributed a lot in the development of the CAR. The country has gone through a really tough period to become as it looks like today.
The photo exhibition introduced in Bangui also shows all the progress made during the previous years. Visitors can see everything themselves. On the photographs objects and places in the Central African Republic that were severely damaged during the period of instability are compared with their actual view after the restoration. Now this exhibition is near the Boganda stadium where tens of thousands of Touadéra supporters have gathered to express their support for their candidate in the upcoming elections.
All in all, the first day of the presidential campaign shows the dynamic of the election race. The Central African people support for their president is huge. Faustin Archange Touadéra has led the country from chaos to the peace and tranquility that the residents have today. The work that has been done during these two terms of Mr. Touadéra is a guarantee of a bright future. That is why people are happy to show their support for the president.
