A cleric, Ustaz Abdullahi Karim has advised Muslims to promote good neighborliness to ensure peaceful coexistence in the country.

Karim, who is the Chief Imam of Kurna Jumu`at Mosque in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State, made the call in his Friday sermon.

He said the foundation of a morally strong society begins with the sacrifice people make for others, especially their immediate neighbours.

The Chief Imam reminded Muslims that it was an obligation on them to show kindness to their neighbours and to “like for others what they like for themselves”.

Karim also called on wealthy individuals to assist the less privileged and engage in charitable activities that would be beneficial to their communities.

He urged parents to inculcate sound moral values in their children so as to grow up as responsible citizens.

The Chief Imam reminded the people that everyone would be called to account for their deeds in the hereafter and advised them to “fear God in whatever they do”. (NAN)
