NO fewer than 20,000 applicants are to compete for honours in the essay writing competition being sponsored by an educationist and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the July 14 election in Edo state, Mr. Kenneth Imansuangbon.

The competitors drawn from the 36 states of Nigeria are to converge in Ajuba and Benin City today (Saturday) respectively for the knowledge driven and intellectual test aimed at showcasing their potentials on the topic of the essay “Discipline and Hard work, not destiny determine success in life.”

The competition tagged Kenneth Imansuangbon National Essay Competition hopes to expose the contenders to show their skills in writing in not less than six hundred words.

A statement in Benin yesterday by organizers of the competition which is categorized into junior and senior categories is open to all students in Junior Secondary one through Senior Secondary school three students in colleges and secondary schools across the country.

The statement said that “only students in JS1 through JS3 are eligible to write for the junior category while students in SS1 through SS3 are eligible to write for the senior category.
