Mega crusade defies downpour as Olukoya dedicates three MFM regions in Bayelsa

A torrential downpour failed to dampen the spirits of over 20,000 worshippers on Saturday as Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) worldwide, led a mega crusade in Yenagoa, culminating a day of regional dedications across Bayelsa State.

Dr. Olukoya’s visit, marking MFM’s 25-year presence in Bayelsa, began with a warm welcome by senior pastors and church leaders. He led a convoy to dedicate two new regions outside the capital: South-South Region 64 in Nembe-Bassambiri and South-South Region 26 in Igbogene. The day’s activities culminated in the dedication of the South-South 4 Mega Regional Headquarters in Yenagoa, where he joined leaders in cutting anniversary cakes.

The spiritual highlight occurred at Oxbow Lake in Swali, Yenagoa. As Dr. Olukoya mounted the pulpit around 5 PM, heavy rain began to fall. Undeterred, the massive congregation continued in fervent praise and worship. About 20 minutes later, the rain ceased, coinciding with prayer points raised by the General Overseer.

Preaching on the theme “Connecting to the God That Doeth Hard Things,” Dr. Olukoya described “hard things” as challenges beyond human capacity and logic. Drawing from Jeremiah 32:27, Genesis 18:14, and Matthew 13:26, he emphasized God’s limitless power.

“The word ‘impossibility’ is not in God’s dictionary,” he declared. “There are overruling voices above us. When that voice speaks, it overrules all things… The problem of people is ignorance about the ability of God to do hard things.”

He urged the congregation to approach God with sincere faith, noting that heaven never rejects a heartfelt cry.

The crusade was preceded by a Friday night service led by Pastor Ladejola Abiodun, the Assistant General Overseer, and concluded with a statewide Thanksgiving service at the newly dedicated mega regional headquarters on Sunday.

The event underscored a significant expansion of MFM’s presence in the South-South region, celebrated by a large and devoted crowd, whose faith remained steadfast despite the heavy rain.
