Asaba – DELTA  State Director of Security Service, SSS, Mrs. Florence Ikanone, yesterday, said the command had recorded a major breakthrough in cracking the die-hard kidnap syndicate that had terrorised the state.

She also paraded  the suspected kidnapers of the younger brother to the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Victor Ochei and also the mother of the member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal constituency, Mr. Ndudi Elumelu at different times.

She warned those involved in kidnapping to leave the state as the command had spread its dragnet. She paraded the suspects at the state SSS headquarters in Asaba.

According to her, “The suspects  were arrested by the Service in Edo State in connection with the kidnap of Susan Elumelu, mother of Mr Ndudi Elumelu, member, representing Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

She added that “in their separate confessional statements, the arrested suspects owned up to participating in the kidnap of Ochei for pecuniary gains.”
