Yetibae wins Best Nollywood Actress in Diaspora, set to premiere new film in July

Yetunde Adeyemi, popularly known as Yetibae, has been named Best Nollywood Actress in the Diaspora at the Golden Stars Award ceremony held in Lekki, Lagos. The award recognizes her outstanding contributions to the Nigerian film industry, particularly as a creative talent based in North America, Canada.

Represented at the event, Adeyemi reaffirmed her commitment to promoting Nigerian culture and storytelling through film. She emphasized her mission to export authentic African narratives and inspire fellow creatives in the diaspora.

In a statement, Yetibae announced the upcoming premiere of her new Yoruba-language movie, Dark Path, scheduled for release this July in Toronto, Canada.

Co-directed by Femi Adebayo and Adebayo Tijani, Dark Path explores the emotional journey of a woman navigating the grief of losing her brother while caring for aging parents.

The film features an ensemble cast of celebrated Nollywood stars, including Aisha Lawal, Bimbo Oshin, Ojopagogo, Jigan Babaoja, Sola Sobowale, Broda Shaggi, and Muyiwa Ademola.

Adeyemi, who has previously produced and starred in several films such as Ipanilaya, Idaji Ona, 60/40, Ofege, and Ashiri Gomina, reiterated her dedication to quality storytelling and her drive to make a meaningful impact in the film industry.
