UGHELLI—Worried by the growing state of insecurity in Delta State, the commissioner representing Isoko Ethnic Nationality on the board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Mr Joseph Ogeh, yesterday, called on community traditional ministers, Iletu, to assist security agencies in their areas to track down criminal elements.

Ogeh, who made the call when the state’s traditional ministers, Isoko and Urhobo chapters, paid him a courtesy visit, expressed worry at the spate of kidnapping and other forms of criminal activities in the state.

He said that the security and peace agenda of the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, were being given priority, adding, “any community that is peaceful automatically will have the benefit of infrastructural and human capital development.

“Any community that is not peaceful but aggressive will naturally attract sanctions from the state government.”
Earlier, president of the traditional ministers in the state, Chief Ewhavuadhe Okozi, expressed their readiness to work with security agencies in their communities to address the problem of insecurity in the state.
