The Nigerians in Diaspora Political Forum, held on February 26, 2025, in Paris, France, reaffirmed strong confidence and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Chief Olumuyiwa Moses Ogunjimi, Chairman of APC France, highlighted significant achievements of the government, including the implementation of student loans, advancements in refinery operations, food price reductions, and improved national security.

He encouraged Nigerians at home and abroad to continue supporting the government to sustain democratic dividends.

In line with these achievements, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, underscored key government successes during a news conference.

He revealed that under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, 169,000 students had received N32.8 billion in tuition and upkeep allowances; a fulfillment of one of Tinubu’s major campaign promises.

The minister announced that all government ministries would present their scorecards to Nigerians ahead of the administration’s second anniversary, ensuring transparency and public engagement.

On security, Idris reported that in 2024 alone, over 8,000 terrorists and bandits were neutralised, 11,600 suspects were arrested, and more than 10,000 weapons were recovered.

He noted that notorious highways like Abuja-Kaduna had become safer and that about 8,000 kidnap victims had been successfully rescued.

Furthermore, the Federal High Court’s designation of the Lakurawa armed group as a terrorist organisation empowered security forces to apply maximum force against them.

Also, one of the administration’s landmark achievements in 2024 was the revival of the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company. President Tinubu praised the refinery’s restart as a significant milestone that restored public confidence in his government.

The 125,000-barrel-per-day refinery’s operation is expected to reduce fuel prices as increased domestic refining fosters competition in the market. Additionally, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited announced plans to export locally refined petroleum products to earn foreign currency.

The administration’s security efforts have also received international recognition. Former British diplomat David Roberts commended Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for improving Nigeria’s security landscape.

Citing the Global Terrorism Index, he noted that Nigeria had moved away from its previous ranking as one of the most terrorised nations in the world. Roberts attributed this progress to successful military strategies that weakened terrorist networks and turned rival factions against each other.

As Tinubu’s administration approaches its second anniversary, the government remains committed to consolidating these achievements, ensuring economic stability, and enhancing security for all Nigerians.
