ABUJA – THE Founder, The Creatives Nigeria, Makoji Kelvin Ibrahim, has charged Nigerian youth in the creative space to broaden their capacity and skills in order to stand tall in the tech world.
Ibrahim who engaged youth in different fields and of endeavour with a programme christened ‘Track and Triumph’ said it is imperative for young people to ensure they are well organized, gold-setting, aspiring to greater heights in the tech realm.
Meanwhile, he explained that ‘Track and Triumph’ was basically to provide a focused direction for young people’s artistic endeavours, by fueling inspiration, driving innovation, and allowing participants to develop a roadmap.
He also added that with a young and vibrant young population of about 70 per cent, the training provides a platform to change the narrative amongst young people if they take advantage of the training.
He said: “This training provided a focused direction for their artistic endeavors, by fueling inspiration, driving innovation, and allowing participants to develop a roadmap for channeling their creativity with purpose and intention.
“We tasked participants to carry out a personal SWOT analysis before the event, by analysing their area of strengths, weakness, opportunities to succeed and threats that might mitigate their success.
“These helped drive their motivation to contribute to the sessions. We believe everyone who attended left with better insight and identified areas of focus to achieve better results this year.
“It is the start of a new year, we thought it was a great opportunity to get everyone back to the drawing board to ensure they are able to critically think about their goals and set modalities in place to achieve them with grit and focus.”
“About 70 per cent of our population is under 30, with 42 per cent under the age of 15. These presents an opportunity and a challenge.
“Young people struggle to gain employment following their studies, as well as various other factors due socioeconomic factors. This has birthed the need to nurture one’s talent or learn a skill, as a means to survive and express oneself.”
Meanwhile, as a Life Coach, he (Makoji) also explained that Creatives Nigeria was basically established with a clear mission to create a hub, particularly for Creatives, and that to serve as a platform for them to spring and thrive rapidly by sharing resources and opportunities including hosting networking events.
“We are passionate about nurturing talents and advocating for creative excellence to drive impactful projects that contribute to Nigeria’s cultural and economic development.
“We periodically bring Creatives together, to network, share ideas, and enable collaborative learning. Track & Triumph is one of our initiatives to support creatives by equipping them with the necessary skills and tools needed to set goals with clarity and determination.”
However, he said there is the possibility of extending the scope of the capacity building training sessions on the basis of a convincing and excellent feedback gotten from those who attended the programme.
He disclosed that there would be synergies and collaborations by Creatives Nigeria with various groups, organisations and Government parastatals within the Creative space in the coming months.
