Tension has gripped Okpekpe clan in Estako East Local government area of Edo state following alleged attempt by the community to resist plans by a clan head in the area, Mr Peter  Osigbemeh to celebrate his 10th year anniversary on the throne, this weekend, despite a court order restraining him from parading himself as the Clan Head of the community.

The Etsako East Area Customary Court presided over by Mr B. E. Imohimi had on May 9, 2002, restrained the said Osigbemeh from performing or acting as clan head, following a suit filed against him by by the Imiebe family on the issue.

As a result, the Imiebe family of the clan has appealed to Governor Adams Oshiomhole as the chief security officer of the state and a party to the suit before the appellate court to prevail on the said Peter  Osigbemeh to stop the planned celebration in the interest of peace in the community, adding that any attempt to undermine the numerical strength of the family which  constituted about 70 percent of the population of the area was a direct invitation to chaos.
