Tanzania High Commission has expressed commitment to strengthening bilateral and trade relations with West African countries, especially Nigeria.

Acting High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to Nigeria, Judica Nagunwa, represented by Economic Affairs Officer, Edna Obinyan Sylvester, revealed during the 2024 Lagos International Trade Fair.

Nagunwa said Tanzania participation in international trade fairs was one of its responsibilities to economic diplomacy and intercontinental trade.

She also invited potential investors to look to invest in Tanzania, noting that the investment environment and legal regime were friendly.

Nagunwa said: “We are here exhibiting Tanzania products, we have coffee, tea, spices, wine, leather products and so much more. We are looking forward to meeting with potential importers to see the possibility of importing these products from Tanzania.

“We are doing this as a way of implementing AfCFTA protocols, which aim at facilitating trade within the African Continent. As African countries we need to be trading amongst ourselves, we have all what we need.

“We are here to answer questions, to give you information about investment opportunities in Tanzania, Tourism opportunities and to guide you on how to go about applying for your visas and questions relating to tourism like what you can do while in Tanzania. These are the information we are bringing to you about Tanzania.”
