Ahead of the February 23 primaries of the Labour Party, LP, Loretta Ogboro-Okor, an
Edo State LP governorship aspirant has been moved to the frontlines of the race with her recent endorsement by the Obidient Movement Worldwide and the Votes Must Count International Initiative, VMCII at the LP headquarters in Abuja, where she was also presented with the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms by the influential body.

Not many know that the vivacious surgeon, author and philanthropist had worked tirelessly for the group and the Labour Party at large before stepping out into the limelight to contend for the state’s highest office.

In response, Dr Ogboro-Okor said, ” I am so proud and yet humbled to be endorsed as the approved Gubernatorial candidate for Edo State by the Obidient Movement Worldwide. I have worked tirelessly as an Obedient since way before the 2023 Presidential election where I was honoured to be trusted by the Labour Party”.

Unknown to many, she also created the Labour Party Health Manifesto.

Pledging to continue to stand firm to Obidient core values, Ogboro-Okor also promised to ensure that the Labour Party in Edo State “creates a legacy that will ensure other states view us with envy. Papa, Mama, Pickin, and with all Obidients’ support, here we come”.

She added, “Without the Labour Party, people like me do not have the vehicle to be involved in governance, at least at the present time. it is also in the Labour Party that I see myself. To the good people of Edo state and friends of Edo at home and in the diaspora, I am grateful for this politically sagacious state, the political barometer for not just Nigeria but Africa. We are the heartbeat of the Labour Party and the next centre of the Obidient Movement”:Meanwhile as the Director, Political for Obidient Movement Worldwide, Dr. Barry Avotu Johnson, declared her as the best candidate with the intelligence and pragmatism values needed for the reformation of Edo state, he said: “We want to uplift the agenda for women to participate and build their capacity in politics. That is why we are presenting the Labour Party Edo State governorship expression of interest and nomination forms for Dr. Ogboro-Okor who is a medical doctor, a princess, from Oredo Local Government Area in Edo State.”
