Former Nigeria international Sunday Oliseh has raised concerns over the fitness of Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Reports making the rounds have it that Boniface is down with an injury he picked up during training in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), as the Super Eagles continue preparations for the AFCON.
The Bayer Leverkusen striker was omitted from the squad that faced Abu Dhabi-based club Al Gharib in a test game and the friendly match against Guinea.
Reacting to reports of Boniface’s injury, Oliseh said it will be a big blow to the Super Eagles should Boniface miss out.
He stated this in a post via his X account on Monday.
I have watched Boniface closely all season, and he is simply an extraordinary player! Him missing AFCON will be a bad blow for Us. We need to have him fit at all cost as he is in my opinion, Definitely one of Naija's best hopes!! https://t.co/ulpy3btGyc
