BENIN CITY— Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, in Edo State and a chieftain of the Labour Party, Mr Isaiah Osifo, have described Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s recent disclosure on how he was assisted by late President Umaru Yar’Adua during his governorship election as an alleged attempt to rubbish the image of the late President.

The state chairman of the CPC, Mr. Godwin Erhahon, and Osifo, in separate briefings, weekend, in Benin City, challenged the governor to disclose other alleged agreements he entered  into with the late Yar’Adua.

Reacting, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Peter Okhiria, described their comments as another mischief “being sponsored by their PDP leaders. The governor was only explaining that the late President meant well for Nigeria and that despite the fact that he was a PDP member, he still accommodated other Nigerians who share the same vision with him.

“The problem with these same people is that they keep politicising every issue without looking at the substance. They should criticise constructively and stop dabbling on issues that has nothing to do with them. Are they now spokes men to the Yar’Adua family?

Let them discuss issues that will help develop the state so as to help encourage the Comrade Governor on his resolve to fix the problems of the state and stop this their connivance with the failed PDP members,” he said.
