WARRI—LAND speculators in Osubi community in Okpe council area of Delta State have been accused to have sold large proportion of the land granted to the Delta State Government by Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, for the expansion of Osubi airstrip.

Former Special Adviser to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan on Land Security and leader in the community, Chief Sherrif Oborovwori said this yesterday, warning that the government will pull down those buildings.

He said the community was desirous of assisting the government to see the project through.

The Osubi community chairman, Comrade Igho Omatagiren told Vanguard that a large portion of the land has been fraudulently sold to unsuspecting buyers and the sales are still on-going. He further revealed that sand miners are also not giving the government land any breathing space as they have embarked on mining of the land for their personal benefits.

He called on the government, relevant authorities and security agencies to prevail on all trespassers on the land to desist forthwith.
