As the entire Afonja Warriors ponder over their team’s 1-1 draw with Gombe United last Wednesday in Ilorin, Captain of the side, Isiaka Olawale has opined that it is not hinged on the team’s 7-0 bashing by Plateau United in Jos.

The midfielder informed Inside Out Premier League that the team’s inability to convert scoring chances is one thing that happens in football.

“For me, the defeat we suffered in the hands of Plateau United is not affecting us because football is all about winning and losing. My amazement is our poor finishing in front of goal. We created so many scoring chances that we could not convert, it baffles me.

“It is not about we not being motivating or not, this is our profession and we cannot afford to joke with it. We played the game today (Wednesday) with all we had, knowing that our fans and the management want victory. It is painful struggling at home to pick a point, it does not augur well for the team’s psyche,” Isiaka said.
