Court vacates order on Uwheru monarch’s installation

UGHELLI— Delta State High Court sitting in Ughelli has vacated the injunction restraining Mr. Efa Igberedjor, the Otota (spokesman) of Uwheru Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state, from installing Mr. Agovwe Ofugbeya as the Odion (King) of the kingdom.

It will be recalled that same court had, on Octo-ber 6, restrained Igbered-jor from installing Ofu-gbeya as the Odion of the kingdom following an application before it by Chief Clarkson Ununugbe.

While vacating the order Justice G. Akperi said the order stopping the installation ceremony of Ofugbeya has abated after hearing arguments of both counsel.

The judge said: “Accordingly, the order made on October 6, 2011 abates as provided for in Order 39 (Rule 3) of the High Court of Delta State civil procedure rules.

“My further order is that the parties, having conceded to hearing the motion on notice for October 24, 2011, nothing will be lost if the parties maintain peace till such is determined so that we do not have a situation of one step forward and two steps backwards.”
