FG, World Bank send 25 teachers to Canada for training

In an effort to achieve President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda of improving the quality of Nigerian teachers, 25 secondary school teachers have been selected to attend a two- week training programme in Canada.

The 25 teachers, who were selected from across the country, were in Abuja, Monday, handed their travelling documents by the Minister of Education, Prof, Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa’i, on WorldBank sponsorship.

Rufa’i said the teachers were to be thoroughly schooled in mathematics and science for the two weeks duration of the training programme for which they are due to leave for Canada this weekend.

According to her, “The first batch of the 25 science teachers that would be leaving for Ottawa, Canada this weekend was selected from the federal unity schools and some state owned secondary schools across the six geo-political zones.
