Two Female Cricketers from Nigeria, Ruth Ayannaike and Blessing Etim have been selected by the Nigeria Cricket Federation to attend an Elite Ladies Academy (the first in Africa) in Benoni, Johannesburg, South Africa, organized by ICC Africa Regional Office,ICC, scheduled for 14-17. October 2011.

With the emphasis recently shifting to T20 Cricket , ICC Africa felt that the Elite Academy should focus on the introduction of this format of cricket to the lady cricketers of the continent.

The scheduled event will focus on Seam Bowling and Batting.

Arrangements have been made for the players to depart Nigeria for Johannesburg, South Africa on October 12 and to depart Johannesburg at the conclusion of the Academy on October 18.

The programme will begin each day at 09:30am and conclude at 16:30pm.

According to the organizers, this is the first Elite Ladies Academy, the programme will be quite fluid and dynamic.
