Arrangements have been concluded for Ghanaian President, Professor John Mills to declare open the 7th edition of Vodafone African Business Leaders Forum  which will hold in Accra, Ghana between November 10 and 12, 2011.

The forum which has as theme: Enhancing Africa’s Business Opportunities through Effective Public-Private Partnership, will hold at Accra International Conference Centre. It is perhaps the continent’s largest leadership gathering.

Also expected to deliver papers at the event are Tony Elumelu, Chairman, Heir Holding Nigeria; Nick Rouse, MD, Frontiers Markets Fund Managers, UK; Kyle Whitehill ,CEO of Vodafone, Ghana; David Asiedu, Zenith Bank, Ghana and a host of others.

Speaking in Lagos, a member of Trustee of African Business Leadership Forum, Mr Taiwo Adedoyin said that the ultimate aim of the organisation is to improve leadership in all aspects in Africa, saying this would enhance governance and good life for the people.

He said the theme of this year’s conference is very vital as it deals with public-private partnership in governance delivery, stressing that this is important because it’s a well known fact that African governments need the private sector to adequately develop the continent.

He said the forth-coming forum offers another opportunity for Africa’s senior business leaders, public sector decision-makers, entrepreneurs etc., to brainstorm on the creation of a new leadership paradigm for the continent that will hopefully transform its situation.

The African Business Leaders Forum has now become a knowledge network of business leaders in private and public sectors. Its past line-up of speakers  include presidents, prime-ministers, ministers, captains of industry and others.

It has assembled high profile corporate leaders from about 35 African countries since inception in 2003 and many from outside the continent.
