LONDON (AFP) – West Bromwich Albion’s DR Congo midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu on Friday confirmed his retirement from international football for a second time.
Mulumbu had originally quit after bemoaning the lack of professionalism in his country’s international set-up before changing his mind.
However the midfielder now said he was stepping down in order to concentrate on his club career.
“I am withdrawing from international football with immediate effect. The decision has been taken after long discussions with my family and medical advisors,” he said.
