Nigeria wine and spirit lures world producers at festival

Organisers of the Nigeria wine and spirit, is an event that aims at creating a platform that could bring together producers of wine and spirit all over the world into a family circle where the business could favourably compete and thrive is set for its 2nd edition festival billed for October 2011.

In its mission to actualise this platform, it will be recalled that the Nigeria wine and Spirit Festival was launched last year in Lagos, Nigeria and that event saw the present of foreign wine and spirit exhibitors and brand managers exhibited 12 wines and spirit and in all with a total of 100 of its kind from different countries for the 2 day event in Nigeria.

Managing Director/CEO, Spronks Creation Limited, Mrs. Ronke Sobodu, inserted that the Nigeria wine & spirit festival( NWSF) is a world class trade and consumer event that showcases and exhibits various wines & spirit from all over the world.

She informed that the event is to promote the wine &spirit culture in Nigeria, and also to celebrate the growth and acceptance of the products in Nigeria and also create a trade platform for producers, importers, retailers and the consumer.

“However, as the 2011 edition places emphasis on the need to promote unique indigenous products and a unique pair of our local cuisines with wines, it is also centred on promoting trade amongst the producing countries like Chile, France, South Africa with Nigeria, local spirit producers, importers, distributors, retailers and general consumers. This is evident by the number of producers who are participating this year”, she said.

Producer from such countries mentioned above will be exhibiting their products in order to attract local importers and distributors.

According to her, the event will open doors for foreign producers to chart their way out with interested and prospective importers and distributors of wine and spirit. It would create a platform for On and Off trade businesses and avenue to project their brands to their respective target market.

Sobodu said the programme will be all encompassing because it will educate the Nigerian consumers on brand awareness and also business owners promoting their businesses with wine and spirit.

Albeit, the three day event will not be complete without wine experts rating the top 20 wine and spirit according to the Chairman Spronks Creations Limited, Oludare Sobodu.

He said, there will be major highlight for this year’s event is the food & wine pairing. It is our intention to have our local dishes being paired with some foreign products at the festival.
