President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the appointment of Honourable Justice Dahiru Musdapher as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) pending Senate confirmation.
The National Judicial Council had recommended the appointment of Musdapher as the CJN to succeed Honourable Justice A.I. Katsina-Alu who retires today on his attainment of the mandatory retirement age of 70 years.
The acting CJN will be sworn-in at the Council Chambers, State House, Abuja Monday.
