The demolition of 172 houses worth about N2.3billion in the Sunrise Estate, Apo Phase 2, Abuja was yesterday described as a deliberate attempt by a director of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to visit economic genocide on Nigerians, particularly those from the South-east by stripping them of their hard-earned investments in the FCT.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja on what it called the ‘wicked and animalistic behavior’ of the director, the South-east Revival Group (SERG), alleged total disregard of the law in the demolition, more so as the group alleged that the action was carried out in questionable circumstances as documents and laid down rules were not found wanting by the owners of the houses, having followed FCDA’s laws.
